Status: FAILED PROSPECT
Alexi Casilla was my #4 prospect in 2006. He had a 44% chance of someday becoming an MLB All-Star.
Casilla played in the MLB between 2006 and 2014. His best season was in 2012, when he batted .241 with 1 home run and 21 stolen bases for the Minnesota Twins. He went on to play for the Baltimore Orioles for two seasons. From 2014-2019, Casilla played professionally in the AAA minor leagues, Dominican Winter League, and independent Atlantic League. Although he is still technically a free agent, he’s 36 years old now and hasn’t played professional baseball in two years, so it’s reasonable to assume that his baseball playing career is over.
